Setting the standard for family health, wellness, and support

Birth Doula Services

As your birth doula, we will meet two or more times where we will discuss birth desires, prepare your body and mind for labor with different breathing techniques and laboring positions, and learn how your partner and I can best support you during labor practicing hands on assists and other techniques. We will discuss postpartum planning to set your family up for success. Most importantly, we will spend our time together building a relationship so we can enter the birth space with a relationship built on love, safety, and trust.

FAQ

What is a Prenatal Meeting?

Prenatals are tailored specifically for you! We really use this time to build our relationship and discover what you need to feel empowered in birth and in the postpartum period. Common topics of discussion are: processing past birthing experiences, discussing interventions like; induced labors, Pitocin and epidurals and their effects on physiological labor, preparing for different birth outcomes, ways your partner can support you in labor, different laboring positions, postpartum and newborn care and so much more.

What is your goal as a birth doula?

My goal as your birth doula is to educate and prepare you for labor, birth, and the postpartum period.

In the birth space, my job is to make sure your needs are being met- that you are getting water and food, resting, and moving as needed. Also that your emotional needs are being met, you can count on me to ground you back to earth, or to be a calming presence in the intensity of the birth space.

In the postpartum space I firstly tend to mothers needs like tidying up the space and creating a comfortable environment, nourishing mother with hot tea or meals, lastly, as needed I will care for the newborn so mother can take a bath or get some rest.

What are the benefits of adding a doula to my team?

Adding a doula to your birth team or postpartum village just sets you up for being more supported (in all of the ways!) in your pregnancy and postpartum period. My role is to fill in the gaps of support that the medical system and your community cant fulfill.

This might mean answering questions that you didn’t get the chance to ask at a doctors visit, maintaining a peaceful and private space during your labor, offering your partner a break from doing hip squeezes, making sure you and your partner are staying hydrated and nourished, or caring for siblings while you and your partner labor together.

Community Care

We are committed to offering holistic services and support that are accessible to all families.

Any donations made to our “Community Care Fund” will make doula care more accessible to our community, and allows me to offer sliding scale rates to more families.

“Gianna joined our family a few weeks before the birth of our second child. She helped cook meals to freeze and care for our toddler during my final weeks of pregnancy. Her energy is incredibly calm and cleansing. She helped prepare not just our home but my peace of mind for a homebirth. She predicted what I would need before I needed it. I feel so fortunate that our paths have crossed and truly felt like she’s been apart of the family since day one” -Julia F.

“A doula gives from the heart to help another woman discover what birth and life are really all about”
